Congratulations to the Bethany College Hurstville Class of 2025 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!
Our school climbed two places in The Sydney Morning Herald rankings, placing 80th in the state.
We recorded 184 Distinguished Achievers, the most across Sydney Catholic Schools, together with two All Rounders and six Top Achievers. More than 21 per cent of students received Band 6s and Band E4s, while 38 per cent of students achieved an ATAR above 85.
Notably, five of our students achieved First in Course honours, placing first across the state:
- Emma McHardy, Dance
- Charlotte D’Arcy, Design and Technology
- Isabella Quilkey, Design and Technology
- Catherine Smith, Industrial Technology
- Nikitha Shaiju, Studies of Religion I
Together, our students also recorded 43 HSC Showcase Nominations and two Selections: Amelia Bass for CALLBACK (Dance) and Charlotte D’Arcy for SHAPE (Industrial Technology Multimedia).
Principal Kristina Flanagan congratulated Year 12 on their fantastic achievements.
“We are delighted to see the hard work of students and staff come to fruition. Their collaboration, their focus and their hard work has been impressive,” she said.
“Our success is a result of strong relationships between students and teachers, consistent feedback and review of work, and collaboration.”
SUCCESS ACROSS THE SYSTEM
Sydney Catholic Schools is celebrating an outstanding year of achievement with the Class of 2025 delivering some of the strongest HSC results in the system’s history.
Nearly 4,500 SCS students completed HSC exams this year, collectively achieving 2,875 Distinguished Achievers listings, 43 Top Achievers, 53 All Rounders. Five schools ranked among the top 100 high schools in NSW in The Sydney Morning Herald HSC rankings, with 17 schools in the top 150.
Sydney Catholic Schools again enjoyed incredible success across the Creative and Performing Arts and Vocational Education and Training (VET), with students receiving a record 321 nominations across HSC Showcases, and 1,989 nationally recognised VET Certificate II and III qualifications.
